Tales from the Crypto-System, Geoffrey Maloney

A lot like Peter Carey's short stories. SF themes, in a magic realism/'No BEMs Here'/plausible horror way; and lit'ry delineation of character, although the first-person characters seemed awfully similar to me. Nice tight storytelling.
