The Exploits of Engelbrecht, Maurice Richardson

Here's a demented companion piece to Lust over Pendle; another skew descendent of Wodehouse. It's very promising that Martin Rowson praises it, since his The Waste Land is also a brilliant work that slips the surly bonds of parody.

I'll never forget the time I met Engelbrecht, the surrealist boxer, and I don't suppose he will either. We were both staying down at Nightmare Abbey, old Iddesleigh's place, for the Walpurgis Night Witch Shoot.

Thanks to Gallowglass for mentioning it.
